We are excited to announce that Baking Industry Training Australia (BITA) is now offering nationally accredited baking apprenticeships in NSW and Qld. This means independent and commercial bakeries, patisseries, and hot bread shops throughout Queensland and New South Wales can benefit from our flexible training mode and have baking apprentices trained on or off site by our highly experienced and professional Trainers.
BITA facilitates three baking apprenticeships in NSW with nationally accredited qualifications: FBP30321 Certificate III in Cake and Pastry, FBP30421 Certificate III in Bread Baking, and FBP30521 Certificate III in Baking. The BITA training model provides the opportunity for apprentices to learn on the job with assistance from their qualified trades person and regular visits from our trainers. Where training or assessment cannot be completed in the bakery, the apprentice attends classes at our fully equipped, top of the range training facility – located in Morningside, Queensland.
Baking Industry Training Australia started out as an industry owned RTO 17 years ago and have trained and mentored some very successful bakers and pastry chefs including those who now have their own business. BITA is operated in conjunction with the National Baking Industry Association (NBIA) by a team of extensively experienced professional trainers who travel throughout Queensland and now New South Wales delivering, training and providing assessment for baking and pastrycook apprentices.
BITA apprentices are required to complete and show competency in all core and elective subjects of their chosen qualification. Our apprentices receive support and mentoring from their trainer and the team at BITA for the entire duration of their apprenticeship, along with building a strong network of likeminded friends to support a long career in the baking Industry. Employers of BITA apprentices also receive support from our administration team and trainers.
We encourage apprentices to get involved in the baking community through attending industry events and entering competitions such as LA Judge Award, the Official Great Aussie Pie Competition, and Bake Skills. We also invite our sponsors and industry stakeholders to visit the BITA facility to talk about ingredients, equipment, and techniques giving apprentices the opportunity to connect and build a network within the industry.
This is a great opportunity to receive top level training from industry experienced professional trainers while developing skills that will evoke passion in a long-lasting career in the baking trade.
