The BITA Apprentice Awards & Graduation is held annually in Brisbane to celebrate the excellence of BITA Apprentices and showcase their quality to the Australian baking industry. We promote professional baking standards through certified training for bakers and pastrycooks and believe our apprentices meet a high-quality standard in their efforts, achievements, and daily contributions to the industry.

Apprentice Awards
The BITA team chooses winners of the BITA Apprentice Awards based on their baking excellence, skills, and knowledge in the classroom and the field. The BITA Apprentice Awards categories include the following:
> Overall BITA Apprentice of the Year
This award goes to a BITA Apprentice from any year level or qualification who has achieved the highest standard of baking across all areas of their training.
> Rising Star Award
The Rising Star Award is given to the BITA Apprentice who demonstrates strong skills in all areas of baking, drive, and dedication to the future of the baking industry.
> School-based Apprentice of the Year
This award goes to the School-based BITA Apprentice who demonstrates the highest standard of knowledge and learning in their cohort.
> Baking Apprentice of the Year
This award goes to a BITA Apprentice from first year, second year, and third year of the Certificate III in Baking (FBP30521) qualification who demonstrates the highest standard of skill and knowledge in their year level.
> Cake and Pastry Apprentice of the Year
This award goes to a BITA Apprentice from first year, second year, and third year of the Certificate III in Cake and Pastry (FBP30321) qualification who demonstrates the highest standard of skill and knowledge in their year level.
> Bread Baking Apprentice of the Year
This award goes to a BITA Apprentice from first year, second year, and third year of the Certificate III in Bread Baking (FBP30421) qualification who demonstrates the highest standard of skill and knowledge in their year level.
Graduation
A big congratulations to the 65 apprentices who completed their qualification this year and to the 20 graduates who attended their graduation ceremony. Apprentices who have received competency in all of their subjects are invited to the stage to celebrate their successes and receive a gift from the team.
