About BITA
Baking Industry Training Australia (BITA) (RTO 31200) is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) specialising in the delivery of nationally accredited baking apprenticeships via flexible training solutions in Queensland and New South Wales. Our organisation has trained more than 2,500 apprentices in the science of baking over the last 17 years. BITA is an industry owned RTO, operated in conjunction with the National Baking Industry Association by a team of extensively experienced professional bakers.
What is flexible training?
Our flexible training model is tailored to suit the needs of the employer and the student. This means our Apprentices receive training on-the-job from their qualified supervisor along with regular visits from BITA trainers for practical training and assessment. When a unit can not be completed in the workplace the Apprentice attends a week of block training with a BITA Trainer at the BITA Kitchen.
How do I start a baking apprenticeship?
To start an apprenticeship you will need to secure employment within a bakery first. To do this we recommend contacting an Australian Apprenticeship Support Network (AASN) Provider or applying for vacant positions in-store, on social media, or online. Once you have established employment, an AASN provider will assist with the negotiation of the training contract between you and your employer and connect your with a member of the BITA team.
